In which there is much rejoicing....

Well, I`m still alive, and I didn`t see any lava exploding and I see Popo basically everyday. There was a ton of ash and we had to wear masks for one day. But my area is pretty far away from the volcano and it only fell a lttle bit here, but I heard a ton of different areas had a TON. I think the area where Elder Burnett is Agua Santa or something like that, is close to el Centro and a ton of ash fell there. He and Elder Hernandez are the AP`s. I don`t know why a ton of ash fell there and not here because we`re neighboring areas, but they`re in a different zone. They`re in Vallsequillo and I`m in Mayorazgo (Area Granjas del Sur) and they called us and said we had to wear our masks but we didn`t because they`re super annoying and there`s no ash here honestly. We did for like a day. put not the whole week like they said. And I saw them both today and they weren`t wearing they`re masks so HA.

Mario did NOT get baptized on Satuerday. He backed out on us. I was worried about that to be honest. We lost two other baptism dates we had schedualed for the twenty first of may but hold up because we have a MIRACLE here in Granjas! Wait for iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt FAMILIA BELDA IS GOING TO BE BAPTIZED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D I`m so freaking happy about this I can`t properly express myself but AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was a freaking MIRACLE!!! Hermano Leonel said he had a dream or something like that about him forgiving someone he had a grudge against or something forever but i didn`t really get what that had to do with anything but it doesn`t matter because he said he`s ready to be a witness of this church and he knows it`s true and he and his wife want to be baptized as soon as possible!!! I have been WAITING for this practically my whole mission (of four months that i`ve had in the feild but whatever) and yahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he proposed to his wife!!!!!!!!!because no one in mexico is actually married everyone just lives together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I felt like Lady Kluck at the end of Robin Hood when she`s just crying because robin and marian got married or whatever and she`s like `i`ve never been so happy!!!` because I almost cried. Then Hermana Rosio said `i`d like to say something to Hermana Mills`and she looked me in the eye and just said `you were right. I`ve been prayng, and you were right`

and she said she`d been struggeling and struggeling to be patient with her kids and finally she`d accomplished it, just like I promised she would, with time and lots of prayers. I`d been waiting and WAITING for them to have their answer for practically my whole mission (which i know is practically nothing) they said they`re ready to take this more seriously and with more commitment They came to church and stayed for Sunday school and this time they were in white shirts and ties and even their five year old Alexa was in a skirt instead of her pajamas like the other time.

seriously it`s a super miracle because we`ve only seen them like twice this transfer and I was super upset because with hna. jimenez we were seeing them pretty regularly, and i was almost frustrated because hna guadarrama didn`t seem to understand or take them into account when we were planning or anything and i freaking LOVE this family and they were always sooooo close to accepting but they never did and never did and now,  realize that without us visiting them so much they were able to feel the difference and I would go through all those crappy days i had leading up to this again if i could have another baptisim like Familia Belda. Except.....I might not be here for the baptism because it`s on the twenty first of may and transfers are on the second and Elder Burnett basically told me i have transfers.

But whatever. We`ll see.

That`s all I got!!!

Adios!!!

The squad. Girl power!

From left to right is Yolanda, no se Yanet hughes and her son Sam. Sari Caberra, Ruth and Rosi, Hermana Guadarrama. Me, Hermana Blankitq, Hermana Pipis and I don`t remember her name but hermana blankita`s second daughter.

In which Tory again passes up the most wondrous opportunity to purchase a dead dried up armidillo

Farms is good. I´m in a trio now and hna martinez is super awesome i really like her but honestly being in a trio is kind of stressfull sometimes and she and hna guadarrama want to find a different place to live and i do NOT. sure, sometimes we don´t have water in our apartment but it´s not THAT often. and yeah it´s small but we´re only gonna be a trio for the rest of this month because cambios are in may. i´m also scared of cambios because i´m probably gonna leave to who knows where. Nealtican by the volcano and get fat off of all the mole and beans they shove down your throat or Teahuachan and die of heat. the possibilities are endless!!

mario is very easily stressed out and honestly, i feel you brother. I´m basically worried or stressed about something about 90% of the time. I´m kind of afraid he´s not going to be baptized that he´ll chicken out at the last minute. we´re like the fifth set of missionaries he´s had. and i haven´t seen familia belda for basically this whole transfer :( I dunno what happened. and the AP's sent us antother ref who backed out on us so i also feel bad for that but this time i at least no it wasn´t anything i did.

We went to the marcado again and i told one of the elders about the dead dried up armidillo and he said ´and you didn´t buy it?!?´ why does everyone want me to buy the dead dried out armidillo????? Also we found these crazy shades at the marcado as well.

In which Tory finds a third half...

This town ain´t big enough for the two of us

Because now there is THREE of us. That´s right folks. I´m in a trio. There was emergency transfers in another area (quien sabe porque) and we have been joined by Hermana Martinez. So our email time has been a little cramped so I apologize in advanced for how scattered this email is going to be. I also feel like the mexican sun has turned my skull into a crock pot and my brain is on a slow boil.

All of the first few weeks of walking and walking and walking and WALKING are finallypaying off!!! we have a babtism date for the twenty fourth of april with an adorable old man named Mario. His daughter is a member and has been for a long time and I think we´re his seventh set of missionaries. But he´s agreed to be babtized on april 24. except you know he wasn´t in church this week.....of course.

We also have four new investigatorsa and another baptism date for may so things are finally looking up in Farms!!!!!! I don´t really have much else to say this week. also this keyboard SUCKS and i think I broke the space bar....or maybe it was already broken. I´m gonna say it was already broken and if anyone asks just play the ´i´m a dumb white girl who doesn´t speak any spanish´card. It´s sadly not that hard. Actually my spanish is coming along pretty good it´s just hard to say or explain how it´s coming but everyone says it´s good. two people have told me it´s perfect but that´s just a straight up LIE. I can understand about 80% of what people say to me...depending on the person. and what time it is. if it´s before seven in the morning or after eight o clock at night my brain just doesn´t function.

Love you all and adios!!

trio time!!!! hopefully I´ll have better pictures next week.

In which Tory learns the difference between B and V (Ie: there isn't one).

Dear Everyone,
Well apart from Conference I basically have nothing to report. I got to listen to all but the sunday morning session in english so that pretty much made my whole month. I`ve been looking forward to General Conference since November. Basically since the October sessions got done. I loved Jeffery R. Holland`s talk, and the Satuerday morning session was exactly what I needed to hear. It`s amazing to me how personally the spirit can teach and testify to us. I jotted down a few questions before it started and the most important ones were answered with the first session. And I`m guessing that the apostles aren`t procrastinators like me. They had to have their talks written way before hand.
We`ve been basically walking all day here in Farms Mexico. It`s like all my investigators disapeared with Hermana Jimenez. I dunno what happened. I`m hoping that it`s for `spring break` which was part of semana santa. Basically the past two weeks have been real bad with numbers. I`m gonna blame it on spring break.

That`s all I got! Floriberto is doing good, Famila Belda (with a B not  V, only in spanish) has stopped progressing and I feel like a failure now everytime I have to see the assistiants to the president because they always ask if they have a fecha (baptism date) every time we see them. And another guy who I could easily be his daughter asked me to dinner and said `tus ojos son muy bonitos, y eres muy guapa.` (you`re eyes are really pretty and so are you basically) So that sucks. Why is it always old guys????? Not that I want anyone to say that to me right now but I`d feel a little better if they were within the ages of 16-24 and not 45-100. :P
I have also discovered the youth music page on mylds.org and there is some actually super awesome music on there! or maybe I`m just starved for something that isn`t motab. Or I`m turning into one of those weirdos who likes the cheesy youth music. Probably a little bit of both. But I have a feeling I can`t listen to any of them because yeah they`ve got great morals and stuff but they might just `simply entertain`. Just my luck.
Adios and lots of love!!!
